Different Type of Strainer:  Y-Strainers are devices for mechanically removing unwanted solids from liquid, gas or steam lines by means of a perforated or wire mesh straining element. They are used in pipelines to protect pumps, meters, control valves, steam traps, regulators and other process equipment. Bucket Strainers. Bucket strainers are used to protect piping equipment like other types of strainers. An advantage over the other types of strainers, bucket type is more flexible about adapting specifications such as design pressure and size exactly to customers' needs. The main difference between them is in their design. T-strainers are cylindrical, while Y-strainers have a more "Y" shape. Y-strainers are commonly used for applications with a higher flow rate and more debris.
