The gasket is made of a spirally wound formed steel
tape and elastic sealing material. The spiral can be
mounted on a steel ring or between two steel rings. Spiral
gaskets are recommended for petrochemical plants,
refineries and power plants, in chemical and power
systems, and wherever high working parameters and
reliability are required. Thanks to such a construction
the seals combine advantages of thermal resistance and
elasticity of metal as well as sealing features of soft
sealing materials like expanded graphite or PTFE. These
gaskets seal efficiently in relatively low assembly
clamps, are inflammable and resistant to blowout. Because
of their undeniable advantages they are more and more
frequently applied in industry. Under optimum conditions
spiral wound gaskets are effective across the following
operational parameters: Pressure Range: Full vacuum to 450
bar Temperature Range: -250 C to 1050 C Spiral wound
gaskets can be used in flanges with various flange face
configurations
Ring joint gaskets are metallic sealing ring suitable for
high pressure and high temperature applications. They are
manufactured in two kinds of cross section: octagonal and
oval accordance. Ring joint gasket are used in connection
with RTJ flange, generates a strong seal between two
mating flanges. When the flanges are fixed by bolts, ring
joint gasket is squeezed into the groove of the flange,
forming a tight seal between the mating flanges. In order
to avoid destruction of the flanges, the material of the
ring joint gaskets must be softer than the material of the
flanges.
